“ A fireplace is a psychological element as much as a physical element.”

The inspiration for the Niagara was an antique mantel that we found in a store while poking around the wine region of Niagara on the Lake in Ontario. This pleasingly simple design with its beveled shoulder panels belies its complex construction. The shelf of this mantel has a soft curved front to it, in keeping with the flowing lines found in the frieze. The hearth shown is the shaped, black granite hearth.

All our mantels are designed with some depth to them, which gives any mantel more pleasing lines. However, this requires that the firebox be installed ahead of the drywall, whether they are used with a rebate or a cabinet mantel.

Similar with the hearth- the firebox must be installed at a certain height off the finished floor, in order to allow the hearth to be properly located. Please consult the installation manual for these specifics.
